Owners David and Amanda's love for the outdoors, animals and children, put them on a path of destiny to begin several programs that allow kids to learn about animals and nature in a fun and hands on environment encompassing fun and lots of fresh air. Amanda, born in Alamance Co., is a graduate of NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. After many years in practice, she now shares her passion educating children with the Junior Vet Academy. Having grown up in the area, she has seen a dramatic loss of small farms. She and David are committed to saving them for the next generation. Together they share 7 children and 2 grand children.

The Camp at Piper Hill has been the culmination of several years of planning and perfecting the Farm Camp at their sister camp, 1870 Farm in Chapel Hill, where over 4300 campers have attended since its inception in 2016.

Meet Gary and Joyce Nardilla

Owners Gary and his wife Joyce of 35 years are animal lovers and naturalists. When their children were young, Gary and Joyce owned a large piece of land in rural Vermont where they spent many weekends and holidays. Their transition to farm-life in North Carolina has felt easy and natural. Joyce has worked in Early Education and Special education and most recently worked for the #1 school district in the country. Her love of children, watching them grow and learn, makes her especially excited to be part of the educational team. Gary has spent the better part of three decades traveling the world as a Television Director and Director of Photography with many renowned and influential figures. He has a keen eye for perfection and has visited extraordinary locations which he looks forward to sharing with the development of Piper Hill Farm.

Meet Lynn Scott

Our Events Coordinator Lynn was born in Ohio, moved to South Florida when she was 17, then came to North Carolina in 2000 and this has been home ever since. The early part of her career was spent in the corporate world working for two large companies managing sponsorships and events. Leaving that career behind to spend more time with family, but still longing to plan and organize events while utilizing her creativity, she and her daughter started a successful wedding planning business serving couples from all over the Triangle.

After 10 years of successfully planning close to 500 weddings, they decided to end that chapter in their lives. As the Event Coordinator at Piper Hill Farm, Lynn is able to use all of her skills, connections in the event industry and her love and desire to make people happy. What a perfect fit for us here at the farm!
